Commercial Carpet Extractor Buyer Guide: PSI, Heat and Vacuum Stages
Extractor specifications can look complicated, but three factors do most of the work: pump pressure, heat and vacuum recovery. Matching those specifications to the cleaning job helps avoid buying too little—or far more machine than the route needs.
What PSI Means
Higher pump pressure can provide more aggressive solution delivery and is useful for demanding carpet, upholstery or hard-surface work when the machine is configured for it. Lower pressure can be appropriate for routine extraction work.
Heated vs Non-Heated
Heated models can improve cleaning performance in applications where heat supports soil removal. They also add electrical demand, so buyers should check the exact cord and circuit requirements of the model.
2-Stage vs 3-Stage Vacuum Motors
Vacuum configuration affects water recovery and drying performance. The Sandia Sniper 12-gallon family includes dual 2-stage and dual 3-stage options depending on model.
